Privacy
In short: what you type stays on your device. No account, no cookies, no advertising. We only count visits, without cookies, as aggregated statistics.

What you type in the calculators
The Schengen calculator and the 183-day counter work entirely in your browser (JavaScript). The dates, notes and country names you enter are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Saving on your device (optional)
Nothing is saved unless you tick Remember my trips on this device (or periods). Then your entries are saved in your browser's local storage, on this device only, under the names staydaycheck.schengen.v1 or staydaycheck.tax.v1. Untick the box or click Clear all to delete them; clearing your browser's site data also deletes them.
Export to a file creates a file on your device; Import a file reads it in your browser. The file is not uploaded anywhere.
Cookies
The site uses no cookies, including for statistics. That is why there is no cookie banner.
Audience measurement
To know how many visits the site receives, which pages are read and how fast they load, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., which already hosts the site. On each page view, a small script (loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com) sends these measurements to Cloudflare. We only see aggregated statistics: no personal profile is built, and we cannot see who you are.
According to Cloudflare, Web Analytics does not use any client-side state such as cookies or localStorage, does not fingerprint visitors through their IP address or browser, collects the minimum information needed (page views and timing metrics) and does not track individual users across websites. (source: Cloudflare Web Analytics; Cloudflare, data origin and collection) We do not sell any data.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages). Like any host, Cloudflare processes technical connection data (for example your IP address) to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
If you write to us
If you email [email protected] (for example from the feedback box at the bottom of each page), your message is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc., which already hosts the site) to the publisher's personal mailbox, a Gmail account (a Google service). (source: Cloudflare, Email Routing) No copy is kept on the website itself.
We receive your email address and what you choose to write. We use them only to read your message, correct the site if needed and reply to you. They are not shared with anyone other than these two technical providers. We keep your message only as long as needed to reply and follow up, then delete it. Please do not include information we do not need (passport or tax numbers, personal documents).
The person responsible for these messages is the publisher, David Billay (see the legal notice). You can ask us at any time to access or delete your messages. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, such as the CNIL in France.
